Nature’s Conflict: The Story

Within the spotlight of the sun, I am blinded. It taunts me, laughs at how I scramble to avoid it. I know it will never leave me willingly; it enjoys the company. So, I must run. Up ahead, rows of trees snarl at the sun. They flaunt their long arms covered with green umbrellas, preventing the suns light from entering. I must go into this cave of green and leave the sun behind. But as I reach the entrance, a rock stands guard. Its skin as sturdy as steel. Its size as large as a mountain. Along with it, a companion. A ladybug. A monstrous ladybug, with never-ending black dots. A face emitting the very definition of evil. It glares at me while sitting on top of the rock, not planning to let me in. The sun begins cackling. It knows. It knows I won’t enter the trees shelter. So, I stand there. The suns light melting me. Because between the lady bugs fury and the suns loneliness, I choose the sun.
