– A German Car Showcase review from an outsider who knows nothing about cars.
My Sundays usually consist of rejuvenating. I rest, do simple tasks, and try as hard as possible to empty my brain out. When the weather is nice, my go to is a nice stroll at my local state park, it usually accomplishes this brain emptying goal. But on this particular Sunday, my friend texts me and begs me to accompany her to a car show. After much self-debate, I thought I might as well go. Cars aren’t particularly my thing, but I do enjoy taking pictures of them and I’ll get some steps in.
“It’s from 12-3pm so I’ll be at your place at 11am. Be ready! Charge your camera!”
“Oh it’s for German cars but it’ll be pretty chill.”
Now, I had been to other car showcases before, so I knew to take her word very lightly. Theres always:
- Loud noises
- We pretty much starve until it’s over
- It’s a lot of walking (more than you think)
- weird location
- always too many people
As were looking for parking, I begin checking thing off my list.
- Loud noises
We pretty much starve until it’s over– Im starvedIt’s a lot of walking (more than you think)Weird location– In the middle of warehousesBased on the lack of parking available, too many people.– based on the lack of parking available
For a better understanding of my drama refer to the map above. Where you see the white tent, that is where the car showcase begins. Parking begins on the street Infront of it, all along the sides. If you go to the left from the tent all the way down to the stop sign, you see that the location is indeed odd. There are warehouses/ buildings with just a bit of parking space. Although me and my friend were too scared to park there due to the possibility of getting towed. Now from that stop sign, to the left and right there were cars parked all along the street (Keep in mind there were no-parking signs along the road). We parked to the right, basically all the way down the road. So now you can imagine our walk back to the tent.
From the tent to the right, cars apart of the showcase were parked in a slanted manor. Here you would begin walking, admiring the cars all the way down until you reach another parking lot with a much larger space for more cars.

Once we begin walking around, I realize that the vibes are a bit different than what I’m used to experiencing at these car showcases. A lot of people are drinking lemonade and what appears to be beer (do not initially know where they are getting it). And many are engaged in what seems to be very thoughtful conversations. Some are taking pictures or asking others if they would like to shoot some content and talk about their build. So, the overall mood is very “Sunday morning walk.”
We did a few laps around the area, but we then noticed a lot of cars apart of the showcase were just arriving. So, my friend and I, decided to stand in one spot and watch as the parking space got filled up. As each car passed by my friend would tell me facts about the cars or point out anything cool (external modifications, rarity, etc) about them. During this point in time, I was indeed feeling good, very relaxed.

We then did a couple more rounds around the larger parking space and began heading back toward the white tent. If you refer back to the map once again, you’ll notice that there is a wooden fence with a sign reading “Tucker Brewing Company”, where the white tent is. The gate was now open and there were five cars parked along the space. Next to the cars was a large seating space. My friend now chooses to mention “oh the Tucker Brewing Company is hosting the event,” which explains the beer. I then separate from my friend who had spotted someone they knew and go see the five cars in this area.
As I’m looking at the cars, I spot the one in the farther back and realize I recognize it’s build. It has a wide body build and although I do not know specifics about car builds, I do know who the signature on the car’s hood belongs too. Akira Nakai. A Japanese designer legend who specializes in wide body. His popularity had reached even me who is pretty out of the loop when it comes to anything in the automobile industry. After taking a few pictures, me and my friend decide to finally leave after about two hours.
Just as we get on the street, a few cars race by and leave the trail of their exhaust.
Loud noises
Overall, this was a very fun, actually chill experience. I even told my friend to let me know if they have another event. Maybe then I’ll actually try the brewery part. If you’re a photographer or even hobbyist, if you’re looking to network, or simply have a nice Sunday Walk, then I think you would also really like this showcase. Although I will say beware of the parking.
